Product Information:

ICI Mace Snagging Tester is used to determine the tendency of fabrics to snag in normal wear with mace balls randomly bouncing on rotating cylinders rapidly. Viewing Cabinet is for the assessment of snagging grades.

Specimen is sewed into sleeves and placed on a cylindrical drum. Then a mace (spiked ball with 11 nails) bounces randomly against the rotating specimen. Snags are produced to a degree affected by a variety of factors. The degree of fabric snagging is then evaluated by comparison of the tested specimens with visual standards that may be either fabrics or photographs of fabrics. Complete with viewing cabinet and assessment photographs.
